This book highlights some of the action from Player’s initial trips down the river, before the race was an annual adventure, through the glory years of Graeme Pope-Ellis up to the 2000 Millennium Race which attracted a record entry of over 2 200 competitors.

With a year-by-year commentary of the race as well as hundreds of pictures, some dating back to the first race in 1951, the book tracks the development of the classic event from a dream of one man to the annual lemming-like rush for Durban by thousands of adventure-minded individuals.
